Unistraw International’s rapid ascension recognised by inclusion in BRW’s Annual Fast Starters List.

BRW Magazine has just released their 2007 List of Fast Starters; to be considered a ‘Fast Starter’ by BRW, businesses must be in the start up phase of their lifecycle; this phase is considered to be the first two years from establishment. Unistraw International not only made it onto the 100 Fast Starter list but achieved a coveted position in the Top 10.

To qualify as a BRW Fast Starter, businesses were required to meet very specific criteria:

1. The business must have started trading after June 30, 2002.
2. The business must have generated more than $500,000 revenue in the 2005/06 financial year.
3. Revenue generated in 2005/06 must have increased on their 2004-05 earnings.
4. The business must have reported at least two fiscal years of revenue including 2005-06.
5. The business required third-party verification of revenue.
6. The business required more than one customer/client - the bulk of revenue could not come from grants or other start-up funding.
7. The business had to be wholly Australian, not a subsidiary of a multinational.

The Top 10 Fast Starters originate from; IT, retail, mining, finance & insurance, manufacturing and health & community sectors of the Australian marketplace.

The reasons for their explosive growth vary; some have exciting new services and products, some have filled gaps in the physical marketplace; e.g. flexible gas piping systems and sandwich bars and others have entered the intellectual marketplace; e.g. IT and communications.
